Sun Kissed

I think I may be a little sun-burnt...or should I say sun-kissed? I like the sound of that better :) The skin on my chest and face feels a little tight and has progressively been getting more red as the evening has worn on.

Several of my friends and I went to a beach in Southie today. There is something about laying out and soaking up some rays that is just plain awesome. What better way to relax on a beautiful day-off from class?

Oh boy...look at those red knees

A beach (as long as it's clean) is one of my favorite places to be. I love the smell of the salt water and the feel of the sand. I just feel happy whenever I'm at one! I seriously think that I was meant to live near a beach. Warm weather, sunshine, sand, and waves anyone? Yes please!

I packed a bag of food so that I would have something for lunch and goodies to snack on.

In the bag:
Sandwich: whole grain bread, turkey, provolone cheese, roasted red-pepper hummus
Baby carrots
Golden delicious apple
Pretzel sticks
The last oatmeal chocolate chip cookie :(

Can I just point something out- my face does not tan. I mean really, if you look at the above picture it looks kind of white and reddish (I think because I was hot). Anyway, the rest of my body will get good color, but my face just stays the same. Does anyone know why this is? Before I hit puberty my face tanned just fine...thank you hormones, you gave me boobs (kind of) and a pale face.

I'm getting really burnt out on studying right now. The first year of grad school was pretty intense in its own right, and going into a summer course right after that is a little much. Plus, I really miss my boyfriend, family, and pets - I can't wait til I can go home in a few weeks and see them! Anyway today was something that I totally needed- time with the girls and sunny R&R. A perfect day :)

  1. So glad you got a much needed day of R n R! I can only imagine how tough grad school can be. Keep your chin up, you'll get to see your family soon! :)

  2. I like the term "sun kissed" much more, sounds way cuter :)
I'm glad you had such a great day with friends! It really was wonderful weather that day, not too hot which bothers me!
It must be tough being from your family and friends, but just think how glorious it will be when you see everyone! :D
